Rangatainment Comedy and Chequer Mead Theatre are excited to launch a brand-new monthly comedy night in The Apron Café.
Showcasing the best emerging comedy talent from the local area, each night features four up-and-coming comedians performing 10-minute sets, before a headline act takes the stage to close the evening with brand-new material.

– Max Fulham –
Max Fulham is a comedian and ventriloquist who has been working professionally since his teenage years. Combining stand-up with his skilled ventriloquism and puppetry, Max blends the best variety traditions with contemporary comedy.
Max has quickly established himself on the comedy circuit with his effervescent delivery and sharp improvisation. He can regularly be seen at comedy clubs and cabaret shows around the country. In 2025, Max made his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a sell-out run of his show Max Fulham: Full of Ham which also received a nomination for best debut show at the Leicester Comedy Festival awards.
He has performed his live solo shows both nationally and internationally and is also an accomplished comedy writer and performer for family audiences, touring his successful family show to leading holiday parks and theatres.
Max’s television appearances include Game of Talents (ITV) Crackerjack! (CBBC) and Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable (Dave).
Max’s fresh approach has earned him recognition in the variety world, and he has been invited to lecture and lead workshops internationally. Highlights include hosting Gala Shows at Blackpool Magic Convention (Blackpool Opera House), as well as being invited to America to perform and lecture at the Vent Haven Ventriloquist Convention.
Described as “skilled and quick-witted” by The Stage and with viral success on TikTok amassing 3 million likes, Max is a performer not to be missed.

Carly loves comedy – it’s her whole life! From writing funny songs, to telling jokes, this girl can’t get enough of making people laugh! She has performed stand-up on the BBC, been a panel show regular for ITV, and hosted on Talk Radio…but her passion lies in live comedy. She has played at some fabulous venues; from every major comedy club, to arts centres, The West End’s Vaudeville Theatre and the Hammersmith Apollo!
Combining a love for laughter and Tarot reading, Carly is also one half of comedy tarot show, Tarot, Nice to Meet You, alongside fellow comedian and Tarot reader, Sarah Iles. Their live shows have garnered lots of attention and critical acclaim, winning the ‘Best Audience Interaction’ award at The Brighton Fringe in 2022.
In 2022 Carly starred in Radio 4 sitcom, ‘Damned Andrew’. She played Siobhan and a variety of other characters across all four episodes.
