New Act Night – July

Rangatainment Comedy and Chequer Mead Theatre are excited to present a brand-new monthly comedy night in The Apron Café.

Showcasing the best emerging comedy talent from the local area, each night features four up-and-coming comedians performing 10-minute sets, before a headline act takes the stage to close the evening with brand-new material.

Headlined by Dinesh Nathan! Dinesh is a rising star in comedy with his viral online videos and supporting renowned comedians such as Tom Allen, Tom Davis, Romesh Ranganathan, Kerry Godliman, Seann Walsh and Fern Brady on tour.

After winning several gong shows, Dinesh won South Coast Comedian Of The Year and was a finalist at the Komedia New Act competition and the coveted Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year competition.

As seen on BBC 3’s New Comedian of the Year Awards, Comedy Central, ITV’s Sorry, I Didn’t Know and BBC Asian Network’s One Last Laugh.

– CARLY SMALLMAN – 

Hosted by Carly Smallman! Carly loves comedy – it’s her whole life!  From writing funny songs, to telling jokes, this girl can’t get enough of making people laugh!  She has performed stand-up on the BBC, been a panel show regular for ITV, and hosted on Talk Radio…but her passion lies in live comedy.  She has played at some fabulous venues; from every major comedy club, to arts centres, The West End’s Vaudeville Theatre and the Hammersmith Apollo!

Combining a love for laughter and Tarot reading, Carly is also one half of comedy tarot show, Tarot, Nice to Meet You, alongside fellow comedian and Tarot reader, Sarah Iles. Their live shows have garnered lots of attention and critical acclaim, winning the ‘Best Audience Interaction’ award at The Brighton Fringe in 2022.

In 2022 Carly starred in Radio 4 sitcom, ‘Damned Andrew’. She played Siobhan and a variety of other characters across all four episodes.
