As a Charity run Community Theatre, we aim to promote and foster artistic knowledge and appreciation of the arts. We provide facilities for educating and entertaining the public in the fields of art, craft, music and drama. How we achieve this:
· We offer opportunities for the community to get involved in arts and performance activities, exploring and developing their creative skills and potential.
· We provide space for amateur and professional artists to develop their craft. Amateur groups are given discounted rates for hire of space and access to professional advice.
· We concentrate on involving young people in the arts to help encourage a new generation of creative individuals.
· We celebrate diversity of cultures in our society by programming presentations by, and with, artists of different cultural backgrounds, and presenting a broad range of events;
· We Create and maintain partnerships with local organisations and partners to maintain dialogue and create new projects and opportunities.
By leaving a gift in your Will to the Chequer Mead Arts and Community Trust, you could help us to continue to achieve our objectives and help us to maintain the facility for future generations to benefit from our activities.
As a small charity, gifts of any size really do make a difference to our work.
The Theatre is now 30 years old. We are currently fundraising to replace the Theatre’s aged heating electrical systems, along with the need to revamp our Apron Café area, Theatre Auditorium, dressing rooms and Theatre equipment. A gift from you will help us to be able to do this work and provide a hub for the community as well as a theatre for, schools, charities, childrens entertainment and dance societies, as well as a social and safe location for the community to come together
There are two options for how you can leave us a gift in your Will.
· You may wish to leave us a fixed sum
· You may wish to leave the remainder or part of your estate to the Chequer Mead Arts and Community Trust after other gifts have been distributed
All size gifts make such a difference to our work. If you have already made a Will and wish to amend it, your solicitor will be able to advise you.
Bequests should be made to: Chequer Mead Arts and Community Trust (Registered Charity Number 1165519). You will need to include the full charity name and charity number in your will.
