Help Keep Our Theatre Warm
Chequer Mead has been open for 30 years as a place where stories come alive, creativity thrives and the community comes together. However behind the scenes our heating system has been struggling to heat our theatre creating an uncomfortable environment for our workers, volunteers and performers. That is why this year we are fundraising for a new heating system to keep our theatre warm for generations to come.
Our Goal
We are aiming to raise £75,000 to replace our aging heating system. Together with your support we can keep Chequer Mead warm and welcoming for years to come.
How you can help
By supporting our charity you’re not just funding new pipes and radiators your investing in local live theatre and a warm welcoming space for the community. We will be hosting fundraising events monthly to help work towards our goal! So stay tuned for our upcoming fundraising events!

Fish & Quiz Fundraiser – Tuesday 24th February at 7pm
An evening filled with tasty fish and chips, an exciting charity raffle and a thrilling quiz – with local favourite quiz master Barry Rossiter! Part of our celebration marking 30 years of Chequer Mead, all proceeds support the vital work of replacing our deteriorating heating system – keeping the theatre warm and welcoming for years to come!
As a charity, your support means the curtain will keep rising for the next 30 years.
Tickets are £25 – £15 for the event plus a £10 donation
