Need a friendly face at the theatre? Our free Theatre Buddy service is here to help.
We want everyone to feel welcome and supported when visiting the theatre. That’s why we offer Theatre Buddies – friendly, trained volunteers who are passionate about sharing their love of live performance.
Who can request a Theatre Buddy?
Anyone is welcome to use the service, but it can be especially helpful for:
- People with physical access needs, or visual/hearing impairments who may need extra support
- Older adults or those feeling socially isolated
- Autistic or neurodivergent individuals, or those with a learning disability
- Anyone who feels anxious about attending the theatre alone
What your Theatre Buddy can do:
- Meet you at the theatre entrance
- Keep a safe social distance throughout your visit, if preferred
- Assist with collecting tickets
- Guide you to your seat and stay with you during the show
- Help with refreshments or finding the toilets during the interval
- Stay with you until you’ve been collected or are safely on your way home
- Offer friendly company and reassurance throughout your visit
